Iglesia Ni Cristo buys town in South Dakota

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) church now owns the town of Scenic, South Dakota, after purchasing the 46-acre property for over $700,000.
According to reports from CNBC, 74-year old Twyla Merrill, a rancher, put the property up for sale two years ago for $3 million, after her health deteriorated due to cancer.
She dropped the price in July to the purchase price of the church.
Iglesia Ni Cristo has been tight-lipped about their new purchase, reported Rapid City Journal, a local South Dakota newspaper said. So far, there has been no church activity in Scenic to hint at what is to come.
No construction permits have been sought or nor have any development plans been presented to the county.
The realtor who brokered the deal with the church has confirmed that the church has hired private security teams to protect their land. Power and telephone service has reportedly been restored in the town.
Currently, the town of Scenic has a saloon, dance hall, museum, bunkhouse, two stores, a train depot, two jails, a post office and several detached sheds.

MANILA, Sept. 11 – A world-class arena with a seating capacity of 50,000 to 55,000 is under construction on a 52-hectare property owned by the influential Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) at the “Ciudad de Victoria” in Bocaue, Bulacan.
Prof. Medem Fadriquela of New Era University (NEU) High School Department in Quezon City said on Saturday the project is being undertaken by Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. of South Korea.
Fadriquela said the Korean firm won the contract to build the multipurpose project located in Barangay Duhat, Bocaue, Bulacan.
The estimated cost of completing the world-class project, to be called The Philippine Arena, is US$ 175 million (about P8 billion).
Fadriquela said that when completed, the 50,000- to 55,000-seat Philippine Arena would be twice as large as the famed Araneta Coliseum (now the Smart Araneta Coliseum) in Cubao, Quezon City which could sit 25,000.
Also known as the Big Dome, the Araneta Coliseum was once widely accepted as the world’s biggest indoor sports venue when it was constructed way back in the 1960s.
When The Philippine Arena is finished, it would be bigger than some of the world’s biggest like New York City’s Madison Square Garden (20,000 seats); Los Angeles’ Staples Center, which is home to multi-NBA champion team LA Lakers (21,000); and the O2 Arena in London (30,000).
The Philippine Arena owners have given the contractors to wind up the project by 2014, in time for the centennial celebration in July that year of the Iglesia ni Cristo, which commands tremendous followers not only in the Philippines but also in many other parts of the world.
Fadriquela said the complex aims to provide a wholesome gathering place for people and a venue for religious, entertainment, cultural and sporting events.
Several prefabricated materials of international standards are being used in the construction of the complex, which also includes a hospital and a university, Fadriquela said.
INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo led the groundbreaking in Bocaue last week for an infrastructure program consisting of the New Era Sports Complex, EVM Convention Center, New Era University-Bocaue Campus, EGM Medical Center and Music Center. (PNA Feature)

The Little Suspicious Box

Once in the time of the present technologies, there live a boy named Vent. He is a very genius boy but he didn't finished his college. He used to be a computer engineer. Vent live near lake Linn so he is now a fisherman. Their family is poor, but they are always happy and thankful that they are united. But that all changed when Vents' father got sick. To support his fathers' medicines, her mother needs to get a job. She found one bet set her to another country. Because of that, all the responsibilities are taken down to Vent. So Vent strive hard to work. He catches fish in the evening and sells it to the market during the day.

One night, Vent is fishing in the middle of the lake. He checked his net and found out that it was already loaded. After a few minutes, he pulled out his net. When he looked at the fishes that he caught, he was shocked to see a little box with three circular buttons in the mouth of a big fish.

When he got home, he became curious about the little box that he found. He secretly brought it to their backyard and studied it eagerly. After a few minutes, he comes up with an idea. His idea about the buttons located at the small suspicious box. It made clear to him that the green button with PA mark on it represents the PAST, the blue button with PR mark on it is for the PRESENT, and pink button with FU mark on it is for the FUTURE.

Because Vent is alone that night, he decided to press the green button with PA mark on it. Then the current of the wind starts to get faster, and the starry night becomes a clouded and dark night. After that, a thunder was heard all over the town. Then a bronze lightning door appeared in front of Vent. He slowly walked closer to the door and noticed a letter beside it that says:

“This portal will take you to the beginning of the history of computer. Even that you are in the past, no one can hear, touch, or even smell you. Good luck for the trip and may you understand and learn about it.”

       With an opened mouth, he thought of going in. He touched the doorknob slowly and convinced himself that if he goes in, there’s no turning back. He opened the door and closed his eyes.     

       He felt the cold air grasping to him. When he opened his eyes, he can’t believe that he is really in the past. There he saw a small town, and in a little house, he saw a man having a hard time fixing pebbles in a stick of wood. He recognized that it is Charles Babbage, the father of computers in the whole world. He thought of studying what the man is doing. Now he already understands the importance of that beginning to the present computers of the world.


      When he opened another door, he saw their house. He was back at his house. Happily, he slept with a smile in his face. The next night, after fishing, he decided to check the box again. That time he was not confused but excited to what he will discover next. He slowly pressed the blue button with PR mark on it. Then a silver lightning door appeared in front if Vent. There's another letter that says:
" This portal will take you to the PRESENT computers of the World. It is different than the past, cause you can touch or even get things from the present. But still you can't be seen. good luck and may you discover things."
  
       Vent excitedly opened the door. After that, he was inside a laboratory. There he saw some computer engineers. They are chatting about their new invention, "The Internet". He suddenly saw some files above one table. He remembered the letter in the silver door that he can get things from the present.He lifted his arms and he grabbed the files in a sudden. He studied them for a while and checked what the engineers are doing. He felt the happiness through his body, cause even he doesn't finish his course, he felt knowing all about it. As he looked at the engineers, They suddenly arise from their sitting and go to another room. Vent followed them. When he opened the door, he saw nothing but their own little and lonely house. That night, he can't sleep because of thinking all of the things he been to after getting that little box from the big fish. And he keeps on studying and understanding all about the contents of the files that he get from the laboratory.

       The next night after fishing, he decided to press the last button, the pink button with FU mark on it. The more aggressive and curiosity runs into Vents mind. He pressed the button with excitement. Then like the first two buttons, a door appeared in front of him. But this time, the door has turned into gold. Shivering and shining like the stars twinkle at a cloudless night. He inhales the air deeply and exhales it breathlessly.He noticed the letter beside the door  that says:
"This is the final stop that you will enter. This portal will take you to the FUTURE of computers in the world. Like the present, you can get things that you admire the most. Good Luck to your journey and may you learn something about everything that you will discover."


        He opened the door and holds his breath. There he saw a city. Everything was ran by electricity. Flying cars, unique persons dressed with gowns made of flexible silver rings and automatic driving cars that is also model of a house. 


       Then Vent entered one building. In one laboratory, he saw his classmates during his college times. They are working for a modern computer. On the top of the table, he saw the files about that invention. He read it for a moment and realized that the invention is about the"Humanized Computer Robot". In the same room, he saw the first model of the computer robot. It was a boy, even if it is made up of steal, it looks exactly as a normal child. He studied its' files and understands all about that invention. When he opened a door, he was back to their house again.


       In the next day, he already know his goals to achieve. He has to invent a time portal to have a travel in all kinds of time. After a year, Vent successfully finished his invention and called it "Time Machine". He brought it into an agency and after a few months, his invention was brought to public.


      That time, Vent became successful in life. His father is healed and their family is complete again. All of them are happy and Vent continue inventing different kinds and types of computers to be used by the world.
